This was our first visit to Skips Seafood Bar and Diner in Battlefield. Very tasty it was too. I did the foodie equivalent of double denim... Fish followed by fish! Well... It is a seafood restaurant! Be rude not to. Whitebait starter for me. Few places served it, which is such a shame as it is a favourite of mine. We both had the fantastic value fish tea for main. My dessert was a delicious fruit crumble with ice cream. My wife had the Tiramisu! She actually makes a legendary Tiramisu and always tries it in a restaurant, only to be disappointed. Her verdict of Skips Tiramisu? "It tastes like mine"! Well I never! Tea and coffee as part of the fish tea deal rounded off a fabulous feast with fantastic service too. Planning a return already.

Lovely restaurant in Battlefield, Southside. Have eaten here twice, excellent service and tasty food each time. Our last visit was a party of 8 in the evening. Everyone enjoyed their food, we all had a starter and main. They are very accommodating about dairy free, gluten free etc. not many vegan/veggie options so perhaps not the best choice for that, but if you love your seafood or meat and chicken dishes I don’t think you would be disappointed. Nice tables for 4 in booths, this time we had a long table in the middle for 8 which worked well, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Great place first time here for steak nite but will defo be back service was great food excellent and staff fab

First visit to this exquisite bistro style seafood restaurant on Battlefield Road on Glasgow's Southside facing Langside College.I do not like seafood but the really good news is that although fish dishes are principally featured there are also amazing menu choices to suit every taste. Today i had amazing Sticky Ribs followed by excellent steak pie, while my friend had a Seafood Casserole. The menu has varied daily specials. Prices are not cheap but are reflective of the quality and service you will receive in this establishment.The restaurant is not huge and has a lovely cosy retro ambiance.Very suitable for any special occasion.A quiet, comfortable atmosphere prevails.You will receive excellent service from owner Bill and staff,who i thank for a very rewarding dining experience which you should not miss when in the area. Booking a table in advance is advisable.

fish is excellent with perfect crispy layer chips is crispy also but if it put in a basket wouldn't affect by steam to become soft steak is overcooked as we order medium well but it still delicious with it high quality pepper sauce,give a thumb up to the chef.A small advise is no need to put salt into the mushrooms cause it will cover the Umami. Service and the area is comfortable.It is a nice place for people to have a lunch or afternoon tea.

Fish & chips were excellent - I wasn’t hungry as had already eaten with the girls but had a mini cottage pie and it was perfection :)

Excellent seaood, the crab fritters were divine, the seafood stew packed with well cooked ingredients, the calamari meltingly soft in crispy coating and the crab on sourdough were all totally delicious. The steak and burgers went down a treat too. Super friendly staff gave us excellent service. We had a great time and hope to be back soon.

We chose this restaurant due to a recommendation from my sister , it did not disappoint! The options were plentiful, it was hard to choose as everything sounded amazing and different. The service was excellent, our waiter was a smart gentleman with tattoos, he was so lovely and even listening to him speak with other customers he was very good at his job. We had mussels frites and lobster ravioli as well as two desserts , portions were great . Absolutely no complaints from us , we will definitely return .
